Ft. Myers, Fla - The Manatees earned the first win of the young season on Saturday by edging out the Avengers of ASA-Miami by a score of 5-4. The game was the second game of three being played in Ft. Myers this opening weekend at the FSW Buccaneer Bash.
Sophomore transfer, Jackson Tetreault, was the starting pitcher for the Manatees. He struck out 7 in four innings of work. He was relieved by Bartow High graduate, Logan Lyle. Lyle was credited with the win. Cardinal Mooney alumni, Bucky Bonynge pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the first save of the season.
John Pichman, freshman from Palm Harbor, smacked a two-run home run. The first of his college career. Ryan Karstetter was responsible for 2 hits, including a triple, and 2 RBI's,
SCF plays the final game in Ft. Myers on Sunday against Gulf Coast State College. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 am.
