Bradenton, Fla - The Suncoast Conference has named six Manatees baseball players to the Suncoast All-Conference team. Five of the honorees were second year players.
All three of the first team honorees competed in their sophomore season and include Ryan Karstetter, Reilly Johnson, and Brendon Little. Karstetter and Johnson posted the top two batting averages on the team (Karstetter .363 and Johnson .343). Karstetter lead the team in hits, doubles, triples, and RBI's. Johnson, a catcher, posted an impressive .994 fielding percentage and was named the Suncoast Conference Defensive player of the year. At the plate, he ranked second on the team in total hits and second in triples. Karstetter is committed to Florida Atlantic University and Johnson will be headed to Florida State University.
Left-handed pitcher, Brendon Little, also earned first team All-Conference honors. Little posted the best ERA of the starting rotation with a 2.52 ERA. He lead the team with 133 strike outs, averaging 14.03 per nine innings pitched. Little is committed to Liberty University.
The second team honorees include Jaren Shelby, Keshawn Lynch, and Jackson Tetreault. Shelby lead the Manatees in home runs and was second in RBI's and doubles. Lynch, a University of Missouri commitment, posted the third highest batting average on the team and the second highest on-base percentage. Jackson Tetreault, a right-handed pitcher, rivaled Brendon Little for best ERA and posted an impressive 2.58. He punched out 105 batters during the season. Tetreault is committed to University of South Florida.
