Bradenton, Fla - Major League scouts aren't strangers around Robert C. Wynn Field. However, this fall their population increases on days when a certain Manatees baseball player is taking the mound.
Brendon Little is a transfer from University of North Carolina, where he pitched just four innings for the Tar Heels in 2016. The 6' 2" sophomore transferred to State College of Florida for the 2016-2017 season. He has shown a fastball that is 91-95 miles per hour. The left-hander accompanies his fastball with an impressive curveball that according to Perfect Game "would rival any in the league."
Perfect Game ranked Little as having the best off-speed pitch in the prestigious Cape Cod League this past summer. After playing for the Bourne Braves, he was ranked by Perfect Game as the 13th top prospect in the league. Perfect Game indicated that he "could come off the boards in the top two rounds", speaking of the Major League Baseball Draft which is scheduled for June 12, 2017.
