Basketball Opens 2016 Practice with Jamboree in Tallahassee

Bradenton, Fla - October 1st is the first official day of team practice for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) basketball teams.  State College of Florida opens the pre-season with a day filled with scrimmages in the Southeastern Jamboree at Tallahassee Community College.  The Manatees open the regular season November 5th at Florida National University.

The Manatees will play three games during the jamboree.  Each game will consist of two halves with a 23-minute running clock.  Eighteen of the regions best teams participate in this event which attracts significant attention from four-year coaches and recruiters.  

SCF's first game is at 10:00 am against ASA-Miami.  In the subsequent games the Manatees will face a pair of teams from Georgia.  At noon the Manatees will play Central Georgia Technical College and finish the day with 5:00 pm game with South Georgia Technical College.
