BRADENTON, Fla.- State College of Florida Softball standout,

Florida. Dani Wayt transferred to SCF, started at short stop in all
63 games and accumulated a .943 fielding percentage. During the
2012 season, she compiled a .344 batting average, 42 RBI, 14
doubles, two triples, two home runs and scored 28 times for the
Manatees. Wayt led the team in average, RBI, doubles, singles and
total at bats. She was FCSAA Suncoast All-Conference First Team,
FCSAA All-State 2nd team, and Gulf District All-Tournament Team at
the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 tournament.
Wayt was essential to the success of the 2012 squad. Her efforts helped the Manatees to a (50-13) season, Suncoast Conference Championship, Region 8B - Gulf District Championship, and NJCAA National Tournament appearance. The tournament appearance was only the 2nd time in school history for the softball program. Dani Wayt's final at bat as a Manatee was a 2 out, bottom of the 7th solo home run against Wallace State to allow SCF to go extra innings at the NJCAA National Tournament. She graduated in May 2012 with her Associate of Arts Degree from SCF.
Dani joins SCF Softball alumna, Stephanie Juergens, as the second Manatee to become a USF Bull in two consecutive years.
