Bradenton, Fla - Chloe Murphy has re-joined the Manatees Tennis team as the Interim Head Coach. Murphy was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) State Champion in both singles and doubles in fall 2012. She was the ITA Small College Singles National Champion in fall of 2012. Murphy was ITA National Runner-Up in doubles with partner, Lei Wei, in 2012.
After two surgeries, she returned to the court in 2014 and competed playing with her opposite hand. In the spring 2014 season, playing left handed, she was an FCSAA/Region 8 singles State Champion at #5 and #2 in doubles. At the NJCAA National Tournament in 2014 she was a semi-finalist at the #5 spot and quarter finalist in doubles.
She earned the 2012 James O'Hara Sportsmanship award and the Jovana Vasic Spirit of Competition Award at NJCAA Nationals in 2014. She was also named the State College of Florida E.D.D.I.E. award winner. She was an NJCAA All-American in 2014.
Murphy transferred to University of South Florida to complete her academic pursuits and compete on the Bulls tennis team. Chloe Murphy graduated with honors from USF while studying Health Sciences.
