SCF Volleyball (10-3) beats Polk State College in conference opener, 3-2
BRADENTON, Fla.- The State College of Florida Volleyball team opened their conference season with a big win over Polk State College. The Eagles were the 2011 Conference Champions and fell in five to the Manatees. Sophomore, Natalie Fraley, led SCF in digs with 17 and also had 5 aces. Tessa Alyman (12 digs) and Nicole McDonald (2 aces) had nine kills each. Sophomore setter, Kierston Smith, added seven kills and 47 assists for the night. Other standout performances were Danielle Williams with eight kills and Rachel Arnason with 13 kills.

After winning the first two games, the Manatees fell twice and
allowed Polk to tie it up 2-2. In the fifth game, the Manatees
regained focus and executed flawlessly. Brittany Jaco (9 digs and 4
aces) rattled off 8 consecutive serves to give SCF an 8-0 lead and
eventually the win.
