Gianni Artidiello signs with Florida Southern College
BRADENTON, Fla.- State College of Florida Softball's successful season continues with another scholarship opportunity. Gianni Artidiello (Miami,FL) has signed with Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL. Artidiello transferred to SCF from Nova Southeastern for the 2011-12 school year. She started second base in all 63 games for the Manatees. In the 2012 season, Artidiello had 55 hits, 8 doubles, two triples, 14 RBI, and 10 stolen bases for the Manatees. She was the lead-off hitter throughout the conference season, state tournament, and NJCAA National Tournament. Gianni earned FCSAA Suncoast All-Conference First Team honors and FCSAA Gulf District All-Tournament honors. Her leadership at the plate and on the field helped the Manatees become Suncoast Conference and Region 8b Champions. She shined through the NJCAA National Tournament in St. George, Utah which is only the 2nd appearance in SCF Softball history. Artidiello graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in May 2012 and will pursue her degree in science at Florida Southern along side SCF hurler, Chelsea Oglevie. They will play for hall of fame head coach, Chris Bellotto, in the NCAA Division II Sunshine State Conference.
