SCF Softball splits with College of Central Florida

BRADENTON,FL- The Manatees split with the Patriots tonight in non-conference softball action. In game 1, SCF had 7 hits and only 1 run to go extra innings with College of Central Florida. They rallied back to win game 2, 3-2.

BRADENTON,FL- The Manatees split with the Patriots tonight in non-conference softball action. In game 1, SCF had 7 hits and only one run to go extra innings with College of Central Florida. An RBI double in the bottom of the 7th by Dani Wayt allowed the Manatees to head in to the tie-breaker eighth. SCF lost 4-1.

In game 2, the Manatees jumped out early behind Freshman, Paige Mathews to score 2 in the second inning. The Patriots answered with 2 runs in the third inning. The Manatees put a rally together in the bottom of the 6th to win, 3-2. Alyssa Ely had the game winning RBI with a SAC fly to left center.

The Manatees, now (9-3), resume play this weekend at the Miami Dade College tournament in Miami, FL.
