Softball splits at South Florida State College: W 12-1, L 2-3 extra innings
AVON PARK, FL- SCF Softball evens their conference record at 4-4 with a split at South Florida State College. Taylor O'Quinn earned the win in game one with nine strikeouts in 6 innings of work for the 12-1 win. SCF had 17 hits in the mercy rule victory. Kat Penn and Chelsea Wildey both hit long home runs. The Manatees lost game two in extra innings 3-2. Megan Schwietert pitched six innings and O'Quinn returned to the mound for the second time.

Chelsea Wildey was 3-for-4 with three RBI, home run and scored twice. Megan Tice and Dani Darby both added two hits each. Kat Penn was 2-for-3 with 4 RBI and a homerun. Kayla Bjorge (Eltopia, WA) was 2-for-4, scored twice and had a stolen base. Ashley Burney was 3-for-4 scoring once and drove in one for SCF.
The Manatees lost game two in extra innings 3-2. SCF scored two runs in the first inning and were scoreless after that. Kayla Bjorge added two more hits giving her four hits for the evening. Wildey and Burney had an RBI each. Megan Schwietert pitched six innings with only one earned run and O'Quinn returned to the mound for the second time.
The Manatees are 29-13 and head to St. Petersburg College on Thursday in St. Petersburg for a conference double header.
