The junior tandem formed UNF's top-seeded team during the inaugural sand volleyball season helping guide the Ospreys to a 5-2 dual match record and a fourth-place finish at the competitive UNF Sand Invitational. “We are extremely proud and excited for Dagnija and Emily,” said UNF head coach Steve Loeswick. “This is a tremendous opportunity to play for a national championship in the first year for sand volleyball. As a team we had a very successful season and having one of our pairs selected to play in the national championship tournament is a reflection of hard work and the commitment of UNF to build a winning program. This achievement gives us a great base to continue building our sand volleyball program.” The AVCA selection committee chose 16 teams from around the country to participate in the debut event.
