SCF lands spot in Suncoast Conference Championship behind Oleka's 34 points
BRADENTON, Fla.- SCF Men's Basketball beat Hillsborough Community College 101-88 in their final regular season. SCF was trailing 45-50 at the half. The Manatees went on a huge second half run scoring 24 points go ahead of the Hawks 86-73 with a little over five minutes left in the game. SCF went on to secure the victory and lock in a berth to the Suncoast Conference Tournament Championship, Monday at home, 7pm.

Freshman, Obinna Oleka (Washington, D.C.) was SCF's leading scorer and rebounder posting career highs of 32 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and two steals. Denzel Myers put up 19 points and added five boards with 12 assists. Lakewood Ranch graduate, Brian Cobb, scored 11 points and nine rebounds.
The win over HCC secured a berth in the Suncoast Conference Tournament Championship. HCC (3rd place) takes on St. Petersburg College (4th place) in Tampa on Saturday. SCF is set to play the winner of HCC and SPC at home on Monday, February 25, at 7pm. The winner of the Suncoast Conference Tournament earns a berth to the FCSAA/Region 8 State Tournament in Marianna, Fla. March 6-9.
