Tennis Completes FCSAA Regular Season Undefeated
Melbourne, Fla - State College of Florida tennis defeated Eastern Florida State College 9-0 to finish the season undefeated at 10-0 in conference play. The Manatee’s went an incredible 75-6 in combined singles and doubles conference matches this season.
SCF again swept all the doubles losing just one game giving them a 3-0 lead heading into the singles action. The Manatee’s swept 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 in straight sets and then had to rally around #3 Sarah Peek who had dropped the first set. Peek, looking to remain undefeated this season also found herself down 3-2 in the second set before finding her rhythm to capture the last 4 games and the set 6-3. As the match was decided there was a tie-breaker played for the third set with Peek dominating 10 points to 5.
For Peek this was one of those days when she was not on her game but made up her mind she was not going to lose Taylor stated. She did the best she could and today that was just enough to get the win.
The next match for the 14-1 Manatee’s will be against NCAA D-1 Bethune Cookman in Daytona on Saturday at 3:30.
