Ava Mohler and Liliana Palacios are Inaugural Pairs Event Champions
NJCAA Beach Volleyball Pairs Event delivered a historic first edition—and the top pair in the field made sure their name was etched into it.
Finishing their season on a perfect note, Mohler and Palacios stormed through the bracket undefeated to capture the inaugural pairs title in Huntsville, Alabama, showcasing dominance, composure, and steady chemistry from start to finish.
From the opening whistle, the duo set the tone with a statement performance, rolling past McCook Community College 21-6, 21-10. They followed it up with another controlled win over Central Wyoming College, taking that match 21-15, 21-12, never allowing momentum to slip.
As the competition tightened, Mohler and Palacios only elevated their game. Against Gaston College, they stayed sharp and efficient in a 21-9, 21-14 victory, continuing a run that made them the pair to beat.
Their toughest test came against Wake Technical Community College, where they were pushed to a decisive third set. After dropping the first 21-17, the duo responded with poise, grinding out a 21-16 second set before closing the match 15-12 to survive and advance.
With the title within reach, they sealed the championship in style, defeating Weatherford College 21-13, 21-17, capping an undefeated run and securing the first-ever NJCAA Beach Volleyball Pairs crown.
By the end of the tournament, Mohler and Palacios had done more than just win—they set the standard for the event's future, finishing their season with a flawless championship performance when it mattered most.
