SCF Basketball downs the River, 112-97, Manatees are (7-1)
FT. PIERCE, Fla.- State College of Florida Basketball beat undefeated Indian River State College 112- 97. IRSC (6-1) led going in to the second half 52-51. The Manatees returned to battle back through the second half led by Isaiah Williams' 21 point performance including 10 points during the last 6 minutes of the contest. SCF had a 32-17 run in the last eight minutes to seal the victory.

The Manatees returned to battle back through the second half led by Isaiah Williams' 21 point performance which included 10 points during the last six minutes of the contest. SCF had a 32-17 run in the last eight minutes to seal the victory. The momentum shift was sparked by a monster dunk from Williams.
Freshman speedster, Michael Sanchez, was dazzling in the open court finishing the night with 18 points and 14 assists, which was his third double-double of the season. Anders Haas added 15 points in the second half along with seven assists. Savad Garner (Simpsonville, SC) battled on the boards and finished the night with 16 points and ten rebounds.
"This was a total team effort tonight, all of our guys stayed together and played very hard which is a key to winning on the road. Any time you can win on the road against an undefeated team, it is a great accomplishment, especially this early in the season," said Coach Erickson. "Michael Sanchez and Anders Haas did a great a job of controlling the tempo and taking care of the basketball down the stretch. I couldn't be more proud of how the entire team has bought in to our style of play."
SCF heads to Marianna, FL for the Panhandle Classic Tournament this weekend. The Manatees (7-1) open with FCSAA #5 ranked Gulf Coast State College, Friday at 3pm EST. SCF faces #8 Pensacola State College on Saturday at 3pm EST. All games will be webcast LIVE on http://psblive.com/.
