Manatees Take SCF Classic Title
BRADENTON, Fla. - Anders Haas made two free throws with 2.5 seconds remaining to seal a championship for the State College of Florida basketball team. The Manatees defeated ASA College (NY) 98-93 in the title game of the SCF Classic at Hal Chasey Gymnasium Monday night.

The Manatees defeated ASA College (NY) 98-93 in the title game of the SCF Classic at Hal Chasey Gymnasium Monday night.
While SCF holding an 86-83 lead, Haas buried his free throws to make it a two-possesion contest to keep the championship trophy inside Chasey Gym. Isaiah Williams led the Manatees (13-3) with 24 points while Haas and Savad Garner added 20 points each.
The Avengers cut SCF's six-point advantage in half on a three-pointer with 1:02 to play in the game. After an unsucessful possession for the Manatees, ASA had a chance to tie the game with 18 seconds left.
The Avengers worked the clock down to the 5 second mark before throwing up an airball on a three-point attempt. ASA was forced to foul following the errant shot.
SCF will face the Community College of Rhode Island in Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday, December 29.
