SCF Softball Hosts Fall Fest 2011 to Fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
SCF Softball has personal reasons to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. The children’s fair will be held at 2:00pm on November 5th, 2011 at the Softball Facility on the Bradenton campus. The event will have booths, children’s games, face paint, foot races, entertainment, bounce house, and concessions.
SCF SOFTBALL TO HOST LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA FUNDRAISER
BRADENTON,FL, October 20, 2011- SCF Softball has personal reasons to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. The children's fair will be held at 2:00pm on November 5th, 2011 at the Softball Facility on the Bradenton campus. The event will have booths, children's games, face paint, foot races, entertainment, bounce house, and concessions.
SCF Sophomore catcher, Cindy Micochero, is extremely motivated to fight blood cancers. Micochero's 5-year-old cousin, Matthew, was diagnosed with Leukemia on September 28th. The team is putting together games, booths, face painting, a bounce house, and prizes to raise money for both the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and Matthew. "Our family is overwhelmed with the amount of support from the community and our team. Finding out that Matthew had Leukemia was such a big blow to us all," said Cindy, "but it feels great to turn a negative in to a positive by raising money for research and for the costs our family has incurred".
The softball team has their final home double header for the 2011 Fall season on November 5th, 2011 at 10am & 12pm. The fair will be held in the new parking lot area in between the softball and baseball fields directly after the double header.
