Bio
Burney has the smoothest, sweetest hands Coach Headings has ever
seen defensively. She was
10-for-16 with three homeruns at the FCSAA State Tournament. Her
eighth inning walk-off homerun against Gulf Coast State College
sent the Manatees to the national tournament. She earned
FCSAA/Region 8 Tournament Co-MVP, Suncoast Conference 1st Team and
FSCAA Gulf District All-Tournament Team honors. For the 2012
season, she hit .330, with seven homeruns, 42 hits and 26 RBIs. She
has endless amounts of power and extreme bat speed. Burney brings
energy and calmness to the defense at first base.
