Softball Splits with FSCJ
The Manatees were powered by the long ball, with A'Lana Martinez and Bree Urban each leaving the yard. Martinez finished 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI, setting the tone at the top of the lineup. Urban added a two-run homer as part of a 1-for-4 day, driving in two and helping SCF build key separation.
Rebekah Lewis also contributed with a double and an RBI, while Cailinne Kelly drove in a run. Jamie Sepsick added a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base, and Kierstyn Aumua chipped in two hits to keep the offense moving. SCF finished with eight hits while taking advantage of 11 total free passes issued by FSCJ pitching.
Florida State College at Jacksonville stayed within striking distance thanks to clutch hitting from Zoe Pascoe, who went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Taylor Burton also added an RBI single, while Araya Stearns and Haley Ross contributed hits in the loss.
In the circle, Dava Hoffer once again delivered a strong outing for SCF. The right-hander went the distance, allowing three runs on five hits over seven innings while striking out one and working around four walks to improve to 14-2 on the season.
Florida State College at Jacksonville's Shea Thompson took the loss after allowing five runs over five innings, with Lily Bennett providing two scoreless innings of relief.
Defensively, SCF turned two double plays to help limit FSCJ's scoring chances and preserve the lead late.
