SCF Volleyball earns back-to-back wins against Trinity College and St. Petersburg College.
Vs. St. Petersburg College
The Manatees pulled off a massive conference win against St. Petersburg College, earning their 5th conference win. The entire match was close, as every set was decided by less than four points. The Manatees lost a close 4th set by a score of 27-25 before winning the 5th set by a score of 15-13.
SCF received another strong offensive performance from Aryanna Spainhower, who led the team with 17 kills. Defensively, the Manatees had a strong game, with five players contributing double-digit DIGS -- Spainhower (22), Adasyn Konopka (16), Baylea LaHay (16), Maya Sharp (13), and Natalie Schwenk (11). Liliana Palacios and Adasyn Konopka were the main setters in this one and each had 18 assists and 12 assists, respectively.
Vs. Trinity College
The Manatees had their sophomore night against the Tigers of Trinity College. The team honored six sophomores that will be graduating in the Spring -- Aryanna Spainhower, Adasyn Konopka, Sabrina Calhoun, Natalie Schwenk, Ericka Freeman, and Johaliz Colon.
The offensive attack was balanced as the Manatees rotated all sophomores in the game. Aryanna Spainhower once again paced the Manatees on offense, leading the team with 13 kills. Defensively, the Manatees finished with 41 DIGS. The team was led by Natalie Schwenk, who finished with 10 total DIGS. Adasyn Konopka started the game as the primary setter and she finished with 30 assists.
The Manatees look to finish Sun-Lakes Conference play with home matchups against Pasco-Hernando State College (October 17), Indian River State College (October 24), and Palm Beach State College (October 25). Come on out and cheer on your Manatees!
