Manatees Win Another on the Road

State College of Florida volleyball earns another Sun-Lakes Conference win against Florida State College at Jacksonville.

The Manatees completed a 1-2 road trip that saw tremendous play from the team throughout all three games. 

Vs. Lake-Sumter State College

SCF built an early lead against the #21 ranked Lakehawks, taking the first two sets. Lake-Sumter came roaring back to force a fifth set, before ultimately taking the final thrilling set 22-20 to win the match. 

Overall, the Manatees had several strong performances. Aryanna Spainhower, once again, was the leader on offense. Spainhower led the team with 14 kills. Defensively, the Manatees had a great game. Five players had double-digit DIG totals, with three players having 20 or more DIGS. Baylea LaHay led the team with 31 DIGS, continuing her strong play recently, while Ava Turner had 26 DIGS and Aryanna Spainhower had 21. Adasyn Konopka was the primary setter for SCF in this one and she finished the evening with 27 assists.

Vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville

The Manatees had a great defensive performance in this one that propelled the team to a 3-2 victory. Aryanna Spainhower propelled the offense with 21 kills. Adasyn Konopka and Liliana Palacios ran the 6-2 to perfection earning 18 assists and 22 assists, respectively. The Manatees had great defensive performances from Ava Turner and Baylea LaHay who both had 40 DIGS. Maya Sharp, Aryanna Spainhower, and Adasyn Konopka each had at least 20 DIGS. The Manatees in total had an astounding 181 DIGS!

Vs. St. John's River State College

The Manatees lost two close sets but ultimately came up short in this one. Aryanna Spainhower paced the offense with 18 kills. Liliana Palacios and Adasyn Konopka had 17 assists and 12 assists, respectively. 

The Manatees head back on the road to take on St. Petersburg College this upcoming Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
